Digital Photography 5 Year Plan

www.FroKnowsPhoto.com It can be confusing just starting out in digital photography and not really knowing what equipment you should buy. We all make mistakes early in what we purchase but as we progress and learn we see where our money is better spent. I have outlines what I think is a good 1-2-5 year plan, where you should focus your funds and what equipment you should consider. This may be different for each person based on their needs but it comes back to glass glass glass and not staying in the same body line when you upgrade. You have to take those steps up in bodies as you progress. Good Luck.

@pedrojesusfreakaoid glad you like it, did u see that you can pick one up in the fro store?

Love the T-shirt!

@jaredpolin wow really? Do you know when it will be replaced? And thanks again I would have been mad to find out it was replaced 2 days after I buy it lol

@sprite32 DONT BUY THIS WEEKEND. This camera is about to be replaced so hold off!!!

@jaredpolin i actually used both of these cameras at bestbuy and i also liked the d3000 better because it had a help menu for almost everything setting such as iso, apeture, etc i will be picking this camera up this weekend

@sprite32 The d3000 is a very easy camera to learn, i like the nikons personally.

I am starting to get into photography and i wanted to know which camera would it be easier for me to learn with the d3000 or canon eos t1i and which lense should i buy first

@lulatubeyou That won’t auto focus but the 35 1.8 will

I just had my first event :D, im working with a D3000, im thinking my next step is 50mm f/1.8 lense, what do u think? since im still working with the kit lense

@saleens79 not a terrible lens, was one of their better kit lenses but if you can get a 2.9 zoom like a sigma 18-50 id go with the 2.8 all the way for more light!!!

hey jared wat do u think of using a 18-70mm on the nikon d3000

@agrotsahac to big of a zoom, you loose way to much light out at 200. There is a lot of distortion as well.

Jared, what do you think getting a 18-200mm lens?

@JaredPolin I’ve used several manual focus lenses and I find it hard to nail focus with the small viewfinder on the camera, especially when I’m shooting wide open with a lens such as the 50mm f1.4.

@3rcflyer im a bigger fan of the nikons and canons, easier to get used glass and just better sensors!!

i just ordered my D3000 yesterday (after a very long time researching cameras) and i then stumble onto your youtube channel and site! Its truely a brillient idea to guide and give new photographers goals when just starting out! coming from a point and click compact camera it can be very confusing when you start to talk about ISOs, Fstops / apature and the likes… so thank you for these :D

This whole video is awesome. I don’t feel like typing out my plan, but I might eventually. Props for awesome content. dawg!

Dude, you need a facebook page.

As always great video, love the entrance. Thanks for the shirt, fast delivery, I’ll send you a picture. Hey just wondering your thoughts of olympus. I have had a e-410 for 2 years, over 50,000 shots fired, I have been making some cash taking pictures of race cars, and remote control airplanes, anything that moves fast. check out my flickr under fast shooter, they were all taken with my e0-410. Whats your opinion on olympus, other than lenses being to exspensive, or having to order them, thanks.

@jjolddahgoo Why do u thick that is holding u back?

@Bader88 Not well. It will turn the camera Into a 5 mega pix camera. Did you call Allens to see if he has one. Email him. Allen at Allens camera dot com. Let him know the Fro sent u.

@dombower Roght on

i say if your not going up in your progression of cameras, always miss a generation. ie nikon d200, dont get the d300 get the d300s,
or d70 miss out the d80 and get the d90

Great video

This does clear up somethings for me. I have a D90 along with one pro lens and looking forward to the day I can go full frame(for landscapes so I can use my 14mm). Instead of doing that I need to add in a few other lenses instead of the camera. Once you get the lenses you want everything else is easy. Plus cameras depreciate so quickly unlike lenses.

Hey Jared its really hard to get a Fisheye 16mm Nowadays .. how would a 10.5mm Fisheye preform on my D700 ?
